New Tile Ceiling in Brisbane built by Suspended Ceilings QLD
The owner of a popular cosmetics business called me regarding the installation of a new tile ceiling in Brisbane. Ceiling height was set at 3 meters above the finished floor level. Roof purlins on this particular job were at joints 8 meters off the ground, requiring rod joiners to be used. The showroom is of tilt panel construction, which usually means a lot of movement. Large lipped wall angle is one way to allow for the extra movement that tilt panels have.
Considering on this job, all of our staff were occupied on other fit out jobs. I engaged a long-time friend and work colleague, Dave, to build this ceiling. As a matter of fact Dave has over 25 years of experience in ceiling building, and henceforth really knows what he is doing. Dave lasered in all the heights to make sure the ceiling was level to within 2mm. At SCQ we only use qualified and experienced tradespeople with the same commitment to quality that I have.
The purlins in this shed are at 1200 intervals which is great for ceiling setout. Rods were joined using approved/rated 5mm rod joiners since the drop is further than the standard 3.6m rod. Usg/Boral exposed metal ceiling grid is the product of choice in this build. The grid pattern is 600 x 1200mm, fitted with 300 x 1200mm lights. Ceiling tiles that have been used are USG/Boral acoustic mineral fibre tiles. Consequently, High acoustic performance value per dollar is the requirement here making USG impressions tile is the obvious choice here. Not only does the whole solution provide excellent value for money, but looks great too.
